www.petsmart.com

Petsmart is the Walmart of dog services. If offers just about everything you need with affordable prices.

Cost: Call for specifics, website gives grooming prices.

The Wag:

  • Regardless of where you live, you should find a store near you.
  • Petsmart is a one stop shop, if you’re in a hurry, you can get a great deal accomplished in one visit.

The Bark:

  • You don’t receive the “hometown” feel of bringing your pup to Petsmart.
  • The vets, groomers, and cashiers, rarely remember your pup’s name unless you visit very often.
  • You’re also not supporting local Dallas business by using Petsmart.
  • The biggest bark for us is the grooming section of Petsmart. Look in the window and watch the “stylists” groom your dog. They can be pretty rough sometimes and don’t appear to be very gentle or patient.

Paw note:

  • Banfield has “special” hours that if you visit the hospital on Tuesday and Thursdays between 1-3pm, you do not have to pay for a visit fee.
  • You do not make an appointment during these hours, you just wait for your turn.  Usually you do not have to wait too long because they do not advertise these hours.  However, even though you do not have to pay a visit fee during these hours, if a procedure is conducted, you will have to pay for anything additional outside the visit.
  • Once you get in to see the vet, make sure you aren’t pressed for time.  Sometimes there is only one vet working so you might have to wait for him/her to go back and forth to see other patients.

Wagging Honestly

Tails never lie. This extension of a pup’s body is the epitemy of a clear conscience. If your pup is happy, its tail wags. If it’s sad and scared, the tail curves between its legs. If your p. […]

I loathe dog hair.

I remember when I first brought my wedding dress home from the tailor when I was engaged and found dog hair in its inner most lining.  Strangely enough, Rig, the chocolate lab, still lived with his. […]

Our four-legged child

We had our first baby about five years ago. It was an easy delivery. He came in a crate. He was a Chocolate Lab named Rig who totally ruled our world and made us incredibly happy.   Rig, like any ot. […]
